Laura Callaghan
Laura’s artworks are inspired by the natural world, and mixed media and paint are at the heart of her artistic output. For Laura, the sea and nature are her sanctuary.
Laura paints in a very organic way, using a selection of collaged ephemera as the basis, she builds up mixed media with found objects and different varieties of paint. The resulting canvases have hidden depths and meaning with delicate translucent layers. There is a sense of escapism in each of Laura's artworks, each one a unique journey and beautiful visualisation of the world around us.
Laura has international collectors, and her work has been showcased in exhibitions in the UK and she has had artwork endorsed by Sir David Attenborough. Her work has been featured in the Artist Open Houses in Brighton, and at exhibitions in the UK including the #200Fish exhibition in Lincolnshire, ‘To Be Beside The Sea’ at The Crypt Gallery in East Sussex, The Grange in Rottingdean.
